Farewell for Pastor Mark Platt

Pastor Platt’s last Sunday with us will be March 28. We will honor him that morning with a reception and card shower between the two worship services and following second service. Please take advantage of this time to express your appreciation to him for his nine months of ministry with us.

Congregational Meeting
Sunday, March 21, 6:00 pm

The Church Chairman has called a Congregational Meeting to be held on March 21st at 6:00 pm at Southern Gables. The purpose of the meeting is to provide an opportunity for the Elders to hear from the Church Partners (Members) and to answer their questions. To insure that your question is thoughtfully considered and addressed at the meeting, please submit your question to the church office one week in advance of the meeting. New Sermon Series for March

We are born. We grow up. We work. We have marriages. We become parents. We age. We die. But in between all these ages and stages of our lives, stuff happens. Some things we choose and some things choose us.

Chapters 37 through 50 of the book of Genesis contain the story of Joseph. Within this story of one of the Old Testament Patriarchs are the lessons for people today. Joseph shows us how to cope with life as it happens. Our study on the life of Joseph will be an expository but practical study of how we deal with the disappointments and hardships of life with the help and guidance of God. The "stuff" that happened to Joseph can teach us how we can live with wisdom, peace, and faith. Come, learn, and grow in your journey with God. Pastor Mark has completed his 7-week sermon series from Revelation 2-3, the Seven Churches of Asia Minor, called: "What Jesus Says to Southern Gables Church and to You!" Senior Pastor Search Information

Southern Gables is in the process of searching for a new Senior Pastor to replace Dr. Jerry Nelson who retired in June 2009. A Search Committee has been formed and is receiving and reviewing applications for the position.
