Special Men's Events
Various activities that appeal to men are planned throughout the year. Be sure to stop by the Men's Ministries kiosk in the Welcome Center and watch the weekly bulletin and the online events calendar for announcements and details of these activities. In addition to the traditional special events listed below, we usually have several breakfasts for all men with a speaker, and project or ministry days when we serve others.
A highlight of the year is the Annual Men's Fall Retreat which will be held again this year at Deer Valley Ranch near Buena Vista on October 2-4, 2009. Situated in a beautiful mountain setting, Deer Valley Ranch provides great accommodations and excellent food served by a caring staff. The retreat features good fellowship with other Southern Gables men, worship, a speaker on a timely topic, sports, relaxation and fun activities for every man.
Another highlight is our annual Voice of Sages series of speakers. A great breakfast and time of fellowship is followed by one of the elder "sages" of the church sharing his life story. The current schedule and online audio recordings of past speakers are available at the Voice of Sages web page.
February is the time for our Valentine's Day Dinner. Join us next February for a marvelous evening for couples filled with fabulous food and great entertainment!
May brings the Spring Outing and Dinner, another day of golf and other sports followed by a dinner at the church. This is an opportunity to fellowship with men from other small groups and ministry activities and forge some friendships for summer activities.
