Day 18 |
Come, my children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the LORD. (Psalm 34:11)
He decreed statutes for Jacob and established the law in Israel, which he commanded our forefathers to teach their children, so the next generation would know them, even the children yet to be born, and they in turn would tell their children. Then they would put their trust in God and would not forget his deeds but would keep his commands. (Psalm 78:5-7)
Father, we pray that the children learn of Your truth and love. We pray that the stories You have told in the Bible, continued to tell in history and continue to tell in our live today would be evident to our children. Help us to teach our children and grandchildren of Your love and faithfulness, to teach our children to trust in You, Father and not forget Your deeds.
FOCUS: Kingdom Quest & Journey - K-4th grade & 5th-6th grade (see Pastors and Ministries section to pray for these teachers)
- Pray the Children's Ministry staff would be sensitive and open to where God is leading in basic programming and big event planning throughout the year.
- Pray that these children will grow in righteousness and understand that true happiness in life is conditioned on living in accordance with God's ways - not the world's.
- Pray that the Lord will enable the children of SGC to share the love of Jesus with their friends at school and in their neighborhoods.
- Pray for the salvation of our elementary children and for clear presentations of the Gospel message through our teachers. (Luke 1:77)
- Pray that the Lord will continue to raise up men and women to teach and model godly living to our elementary-aged children. (2 Timothy 2:2)
Let us not fool ourselves-without Christianity, without Christian education, without the principles of Christ inculcated into young life, we are simply rearing pagans.
Peter Marshall (1902-1949)
