Praying for Emergencies
A number of people have committed to pray for the needs of our congregation on an immediate basis when urgent prayer requests are received. As prayer requests come to the church office by phone or e-mail, prayer leaders are notified and the daytime, evening and e-mail prayer chains are activated. Our prayer teams are always encouraged when you share praises and answers to prayer with them as well.
Weekly Staff Prayer
Praying for the Flock
Our pastoral staff gathers weekly, usually on Tuesday afternoons, to pray for the needs of our congregation. During this time, a number of families/individuals are specifically prayed for by name. The intent is to pray for every person in our congregation by name at least annually. Persons to be prayed for receive a personal letter in advance inviting them to join the staff for prayer or to submit prayer requests by phone or e-mail.
Sunday Morning Prayer
Praying for Our Worship Services
Meet with us every or any Sunday morning from 8:00 to 8:15 a.m. in the Prayer Chapel adjacent to the Worship Center to pray for our Worship Services. We pray for our Pastor that is speaking, for the message, Scott Naden as he leads Worship, the Worship Team -- choir and musicians, our technical staff in the sound booth and AV room -- and, most of all, for the Holy Spirit to move us into Worship together.
Moms in Touch
Praying for Our Students/Children
Moms in Touch International is an organization that helps form local groups of parents with children or students in the same school. A number of Southern Gables moms participate in these groups for prayer and support. Notices of particular groups including the school, meeting times and group contact are periodically placed in the Weekly Bulletin. The Moms in Touch web site can assist you in locating a group for your school. If none exists, perhaps you may be led to form a group for your child's school.
