Welcome to Sound Living Online -- Multi-Media Sermon Resources

A strength of Southern Gables ministry is the Biblical-based teaching during the worship services each Sunday. Audio recordings are made of each sermon. Text or notes are available for many sermons. We make these resources available to assist you in your study of Scriptures and so that you may share them with others. The information below, and in pages linked to the left column, provides access to online resources and tells how to order sermons from our CD and tape library. Online Audio Resources

Audio recordings in Real Media format are available for listening online or for downloading to your computer for later listening. Due to space constraints on the web server, only the last 12 to 18 months of sermons are maintained online. To listen, click on any underlined title in any of the sermon lists.

To download the sermon file, click on the icon in the download column in any of the sermon lists.

Real Player is needed to listen to these messages online or after downloading. The player is a free download from the Real Media website. Please call the church office if you have difficulty in locating the free download or installing Real Player on your computer.

We have begun making the audio sermons also available in MP3 format. MP3 files are available for the 1 Peter sermon series that can be accessed through the link in the left column. We will be adding many more sermons in the MP3 format in the next few months.

Scripture References

A primary scripture reference is given for most sermons. Clicking on the reference in the sermon list opens a web page for Bible Gateway that displays the selected scripture. On that page, you may click on a link that will play a voice narration of the passage. You may also display other scripture passages and/or other Bible translations.

Online Sermon Texts and Notes

Full text copies of most of Pastor Nelson's sermons are available online. Text or note copies may be available for other speakers.

Sermon text is usually available in three formats: simple text, PDF files and Microsoft Word documents. The simple text files (html format) can be viewed directly with your web browser by clicking on the icon in any of the sermon lists.

PDF files may be downloaded for viewing or printing by clicking on the icon on any of the sermon lists. PDF files require the free Adobe Acrobat Reader for viewing or printing. You can download Reader for free from the Adobe website.

If you have Microsoft Word 2000 or newer, or a word processing program that will import Word documents, you can download the document files by clicking on the icon in any of the sermon lists and open the documents in Word.

CD Resources

Beginning in June 2003, we added an exciting new element to our sermon resources. Audio recordings of sermons are now available on CD immediately after worship services. These recordings are in CD-R format, standard audio recordings that can be played on most CD players and on newer model automobile CD players.

CDs can be picked up at the Sound Living kiosk in the Welcome Center. If you would like a CD of a previous sermon, and a copy is not available at the kiosk, you can sign up on the form provided and your CD will be available the next Sunday. You can also send us a request and then pick up the CD the following Sunday.

A donation of $2.00 per CD is suggested to cover supplies and equipment maintenance and replacement costs. We can also mail you the CD for additional postage costs if you can not pick up the CD at the church.

Audio Tape Resources

Audio cassette tape recordings were made of sermons for more than 10 years. We stopped making tape recordings in June 2006. Copies of cassettes for any sermon prior to July 2006 listed on these web pages may be ordered by signing up at the Sound Living kiosk in the Welcome Center or by sending us an e-mail or a request from this web site. Your cassette copies will be available for pickup at the kiosk the following Sunday. A donation of $2.00 is suggested.
