Senior Pastor Search InformationThank you for your interest in the search for a new Southern Gables senior pastor. This page contains information for the Southern Gables congregation on the status of the search. We will use this page to bring you periodic updates on the search process. Prayer Requests ~ Senior Pastor Search CommitteeThe Senior Pastor Search Committee requests that you pray regularly for the Committee and the search process. Here are specific prayer requests. There will also be periodic opportunities to pray as a congregation with the Committee. Please watch for an announcement in the church bulletin. Current Status of Search, August 10, 2008During Worship Services on August 10, John Boyer, Chairman of the Pastoral Search Committee, updated the congregation. The Committee has received more than 250 contacts from potential applicants for the Senior Pastor position. The Committee reduced the pool of applicants to a short list of three men. Two of those men have since withdrawn from consideration. A third applicant will be interviewed by phone this week. The Committee is continuing to receive applications and have several new ones of interest. Please join the Committee in prayer at 5:00 pm August 17 or pray through the list of prayer requests above. Senior Pastor Search CommitteeThe following have been appointed by the Elder Board to serve on the committee to search for a new senior pastor. They will seek, vet, interview and recommend a candidate to the Elders who in turn will recommend a candidate to the congregation. Suggestions, comments and questions of or about potential candidates should be directed to the committee. You may contact them by sending an email to search@sgc.org.
