Prayer Requests ~ Senior Pastor Search Committee


Then they prayed, "Lord, you know everyone’s heart
Show us which of these two you have chosen…" Acts 1:24

  • Pray that we have success in doing God’s work by clearly seeing the man who would be able to lead the people of SGC
  • Pray that we rely on God’s timing in every aspect of the search
  • Pray the committee would be in unity as God reveals the man He has called to SGC
  • Pray that we don’t take any shortcuts in the process of searching
  • Pray that the committee won’t have any conflicts in schedules to be able to meet
  • Pray for the protection of the committee- Spiritually, physically and emotionally as they put in long hours through this process
  • Pray for stamina, strength and encouragement
  • Pray that we use our time wisely
  • Pray that we run the race well not getting discouraged
  • Praise God for the different gifts God has given to each individual who is on the committee
  • Pray the committee asks the right questions to each candidate who is interviewed
  • Pray that the committee would faithfully ask for God’s help and direction
  • Pray that as any problems arise, the committee will face them squarely and press on to complete God’s work in seeking the right man
  • Pray as the committee continues to read resumes, processing all that is written, they will allow God to be the center in all they do
  • Pray for revival of our hearts
  • Pray that each of us as individuals would remember that God is the director of every aspect of our lives, even our prayers
  • Pray as a committee we would be forthright and direct with the candidates on the church’s strength and weaknesses
  • Pray that there would be humility, honesty and integrity in the candidate process
  • Pray as a committee that we look for character signs that reveal the issues of the heart of the candidate 1 Samuel 16:7
  • Pray as a committee that we recognize any candidate that is a wolf in sheep’s clothing
  • Pray as a committee that we can see and hear the love and passion the candidate has for the Lord Jesus Christ
  • Pray for the protection of our families
  • Pray against any spiritual attacks
  • Pray as a committee that we would communicate well with one another
  • Pray as a committee that we communicate well with a potential candidate, in a timely manner
  • Pray that our computers will function well (email and internet access are both critical)
  • Pray that our personal walk with God would be strong
  • Pray that our prayer life would be strong and pray against the enemy who doesn't want us on our knees
